Setting fire to pasta?

Last night it would seem I experienced two cooking fails. 1- I set fire to the spagehetti - I was only made aware of this by the smoke alarm going off. 2- I made a cake that can only be likened to a brick. Its awful. What cooking disaster have you had in the past? Make me feel better please?

I have to cut an inch of the big pizzas to even fit them in our oven. And I've never once put them on a tray either. I love asda pizzas.

OH prefers his pizza cooked on a tray, so we have one on the shelf directly and one on a tray underneath!

Oh, not quite a cooking related mishap but...

We had some Ben and Jerrys last year sometime and it was too hard to scoop. So I put a dessert spoon in the gas hob to heat it up and tried again. Still too hard but there was a bit of ice cream on the spoon. So I put it in my mouth. I put the boiling hot, fresh out of the gas flame, spoon into my mouth. My tongue sizzled like steak and I had blisters on my lips for a week.

When I was about 17, I volunteered to cook the Christmas puddings while my mum was out at work. We'd made the mixture and packed it into the basins, so all I needed to do was steam them. I knew that I had to keep the water in the pans topped up, but unfortunately, I didn't know that you're meant to let them simmer with a relatively small amount of water in the bottom of the pan, not keep them on a rolling boil in an almost full saucepan. Four of them. For six hours. The puddings were absolutely fine, but the house turned into a sauna, and the front door got warped by the heat and steam that it wouldn't open when Mum got home!

When I was a student, getting up bleary and hungover, I accidentally poured orange juice on my cereal. However, it was the last of my cereal, so instead of chucking it out, I tried to pour away the orange juice and then add milk! So, so disgusting. ?
