Shaving your toes?

emma numbers, 9 October, 2008 at 14:27 Posted on Off Topic Posts 0 52

Is this really normal? I suppose it's never occured to me as I've got pretty feet (as pretty as feet get) and I certainly don't have any hair on them. I thought only men have hairy toes.

I suppose it also seems strange to me to shave your toes if they are hairy. Wouldn't it be odd to have stubble there? Wouldn't you just wax.

Maybe I'm thinking about this too much.

I shave my toes, but I only get a bit of hair on my big and 2nd toe, and it's really fine. It doesn't need doing very often. If I wasn't a brunette then I may have been able to get away with not doing it at all.

If you have hair on your toes, what else are you going to do? Any stubble isn't very noticeable, and people aren't going to be stroking your toes and finding out that way.

Waxing hurts. The only bit of my body I can bear to wax is my eyebrows.

I get a couple of hairs on my big toes that I shave off. I rarely have to do it as I'm fair and it takes a while before they're noticable, actually they're probably not really noticable to anyone else anyway.

It's strange because I'm really quite unhairy generally but it's no big deal.

Oh and it would be silly to wax for something so small, why bother?

Anyone else for the Hairy Toed Hitchers Clique?

I think you'll find it's common to remove hair from your toes. You don't have to be a man to have hair there. Removal options are often on price lists for salons. as for shaving, works fine, and hardly a great big are for stubble to be noticed.

Is that with Gas and Air, or an epidural???

My feet are very sensitive despite their fur and look better for a quick shave (as opposed to combing!)

I knew there were other hairyfeet ladies out there!?

I always end up with a couple of hairs on my big toes so I just snip them off every now and again when I notice they've got long. I have blonde hair so only I notice!

I don't have hairy toes or feet, but I do have the ugliest feet in the world. They are horrid.

I have had operations on them to try and improve them, but they just go back to normal. Urgh, I haaaaaaaate my feet.

I'm also one of the "Hairy Toe" brigade.

I wax when I remember to or shave if I intend to wear revealing shoes (how stupid does that sound?) and have left it until the last minute.

Im not a paticuarly hairy person (im fair haired) but I shave my toes (big toe and the one next to it) I dont have to shave them as often as my legs.

For a while I thought I was a freak of nature and the only woman with "not extremely hairy legs but hairy toes syndrome!" haha. It came up randomly in conversation once and I discovered that many of my female friends shave or wax their toes. PHEW.

    Edited for typo.

As soon as this baby has popped out i'll be back to shaving toes again...

Same here just my big toes have a couple of stray hairs, no big deal *shrugs*

I am just dark haired so I notice them, probably no one else would lol

Is anyone else thinking in their head Golem saying "dirty little hobbiteseses" ? . That isn't in an insulting way, just in a comic way incase I offend someone!

I've just had to look (I'm at work) as I've never even thought about it and found one longish hair on my right big toe ?

Sellotape doesn't work - I shall have to pluck later

I epilate or shave my big toes. The others aren't too bad, hair-wise. I still would never go as far as to say they were pretty though. Feet are feet.

I shave my big toes the odd time and sometimes the 2nds. The hair is very light but whispy anyway but sometimes in the shower when it's wet and I'm bent over doing my legs i'll give them a whizz. Stubble isn't really an issue.

Not only do I have hairs on my toes I also have them on my fingers too, between the middle and the last knuckle on all four fingers but strangely enough not on my thumb. I don't shave them but do occasionaly epilate, but boy does it bring tears to my eyes.

I never realised people shaved their toes until I read it on Hitched a while ago. I don't but then I don't think I need to, I have dark hair but it's very fine so you can only see things close up and no-one except Mr G is going to get that close to my toes ?

So it's pretty common then. It just never occured to me. I know people get rid of hair on their face, forearms etc just never heard of having to de-fur your toes.

I'm another Hobbit - I have pale skin and dark hair so any hair shows ... would rather shave my toes whilst doing my legs than have people notice the hairiness

Me too. I don't do anything to get rid of it, as it's only very fine and not at all noticeable, and I don't do anything to get rid of the hair on my arms either. Hairless arms look a bit strange to me.

Unfortunately one of the side effects of being asian is thick dark hair, which while lovely as your crowning glory does mean that your arms resemble a hairy creature's and your legs look like men's legs. I can't bear to leave my arms in their natural state and therefore have to epilate them every 4 weeks, (sob).

I've been shaving my toes for years now, sometime last year I noticed a few hairs also growing on my feet. On Monday I noticed that I really need to start shaving my hands too ?
