Sheep cake topper

diamondsragirlsbestfriend!, 14 January, 2009 at 11:42 Posted on Planning 0 16

Hi - bit of a random question but does anyone know where I might be able to get a sheep cake topper? Want to add a bit of a New Zealand flavour to some of the wedding and saw on one website sheep dressed as bride and groom, but it was £85. Don't really want to spend this much on a cake topper does anyone know of anything cheaper or is this about right?

Thanks

Hello - I would say that price sounds about right - I've been quoted between £60 - £75 for a normal (couple) cake topper. Try contacting Debbie Bone (www.debbiebone.co.uk) as she is a HIB and was extremely helpful when I was choosing my cake and topper.

Hi Mayday - thanks for that. I may have to re-think my cake topper if its going to be that much ..... the cake itself will only be £92 from M&S. Haven't discussed it with H2B yet but I know he won't want to spend that much on a cake topper.

Could you get a normal bride and groom and just put something like this on there with them? http://www.web-sites.co.uk/christmas-presents/product/4/187351/Schleich-Sheep-Standing.html

Not sure of the size so might be a bit big but I'm sure a local toy shop would have options...

I'm sure there is a HIB on here that does them. Not sure if it is Feats of Clay or not, but I know a lot of people have used this before. I think that price you mentioned is about right to be honest. It does seem a lot, especially considering the price of your cake, but it will make lovely keepsake!

    Have you tired E*bay??

My sister bought us a personalised cake topper from there. It was quite cheap as she was auctioning her services as a maker of cake toppers and would make it personalised as we liked all included in the price.

Thanks everyone for the suggestions - will give it a bit more thought. Its unfortunate that the one I saw was edible too for £85, a keepsake on was a lot more than that.

I think I found the ones you originally saw on a site called drangons and daffodils or something like that but they were something silly like £85.

Yep they are the ones I saw Zippy. I quite liked them but not for £85! I just can't do it when the cake is only £92 ... its madness.

Thank god for your googling skills.
