Shirt for wearing with self-tie cravat

Mrs W2B, 14 August, 2008 at 14:48 Posted on Planning 0 3

Hi,

My H2B wants to wear a self tie cravat but we are struggling to get a shirt to wear with it - think they are called Edwardian.

Can anyone suggest where I might get one (or I mean 7 as he want's all the men to wear one).

Also, where is good for buying cravats? I'm in Edinburgh.

Hope you can help!!

I think you can also use Wing collar shirts with these too. Try googling wing collar shirts and you will find loads of stockists. Most formal hire places sell them too

    Hi,

The type of shirt you are looking for is the Edwardian collar, which has a deep collar stand. You can also use a standard cross collar which has a normal neck stand. It depends how wide the neckbands are on the cravats.

I stock the Capri as the collar stand is of a normal height and fits better, but my cravats are never that wide in the neckband. I think the type of shirt you are looking for is the Como, which I dont stock but can get for you.

I can sell you the Capri or Como at £34.95 each. Or you could email Richard Jones and ask for a list of retailors near you.

Thanks for you reply Bespoke Tailor. I have sent Richard Jones an email, but if I get no joy I will give you a shout. Can you post your details or PM me with them.

I need the shirts for Friday 29th so it's all a bit of a rush.

    Thanks again

    No Problems,

Richard Jones can be a bit of pain to deal with (i hope they are not reading this) So they may not get back to you very quickly (hopefully they will surprise me and deliver excellent service)

If not give me a call, my number here is 020 85941654 or 020 85945967. I am Marc but I am not here tomorrow so just ask for Rob.
