Shortbread Recipe

Wahey! I use the bero recipe but sprinkle a bit of sugar on before http://www.be-ro.co.uk/recipe/showrec30.html

6 oz flour

4 oz butter

2 oz caster sugar

Mix the flour and sugar then rub in the butter till it comes together in a dough. I then just flatten it a bit with my hand and cut out. I poke a few holes in them with a fork so it can catch caster sugar which I sprinkle on when they're out the oven. Bake at 190C for about 15 mins - but keep an eye on them because baking time depends on the size.

The recipe says plain flour but I've also made them with SR flour which just gives a slightly thicker biscuit (I always use SR flour if I'm baking a sheet of shortbread for millionaire's shortbread.

This has always worked for me so hope it helps. Totally want to get baking now too.

I use a Jamie Oliver recipe which is good. Can't remember the details but can post later for you
