Mrs C - are your penquins on the smallest size M and S one? Mt daughter was thinking about using this for the top of her cupcake tower, but has some fabric birds to go on top. She thought the birds might look too big with a tiny cake, but yours looks great.
A really unusual one at a wedding I shot last year was this one made entirely of Northumbrian cheeses. It looked superb and I thought it was a great idea. Trouble was it was summer and as the room got hotter with a large guest list the cheeses began to "breathe" - which is more than some of the guests could after a while. Still got a chance to take home huge amounts of wonderful cheeses and it was a great day with some lovely images.
We had a Tower of Desserts by Eric Lanlard. He usually has them on his website. We had winter berries on some of them and no flower decoration as it was an xmas wedding.
Please forgive me for asking a silly question... but how does the icing work on these stacked cakes? Is each cake iced separately, or on some of them it looks as if the icing just goes over the outside of the whole stack? Can you take the individual cakes apart to serve them and cut them up - is there a cake board between each layer, or something?
