Size 13 trousers?

KJB, 15 April, 2009 at 11:16 Posted on Off Topic Posts 0 18

Having spent over 6 hours in the last 2 days trying on clothes, I conclude i am currently a size 13 in clothes, especially trousers.

Can anyone recommend any 'generous' size 12 shops, or 'tight' size 14s so I have a hope in hell of getting a pair of grey trousers that fit.

(I'm working on getting back down to a 12, but it may take some time and I need some grey trousers now)

Thanks

KJB

My only suit is by Coast and it has wide-legged trousers that are *very* generous. That could be worth a try? M&S always come up big, but whether you'd see anything you'd like is a different matter. I have also found Oasis flares/wide-legged trousers to be cut more generously as well.

M&S, New Look, Gap, Kew and Dotty P all come up big in my experience. Mango, Zara, Topshop come up small.

    Thanks everyone.

Sob. I've tried all these places over the last couple of days, as well as Next. Wallis is worth a shot though.

Maybe I'm deluding myself and I really am a size 14. Sob.

The size 12's do up but with severe VPL and I can't breathe.....the 14's do up fine but there is excess material around the crotch and a 2" gap at the back.

    Darn my belly.

More fruit and veg and less cheese and chocolate for me Smiley sad

I had a dream last night that I was shopping for size 13 trousers but could only find size 11s! How strange!

I find I'm a 12 in DPs and a 14 most of the time in Next, but Next sizes depend on the style so I always need to try them on.

H&M come up small (I think they're designed for 15 year olds) and wont cost an awful lot so might be a good stop gap.

I remember M&S used to do middle sizes years and years ago. I was a size 9 when I was in my teens [sob]

I am sure Benetton used to do mid sizes too, but this was also years ago. Sorry, no help from me!! Have you tried bying 'cheap' trousers a size bigger, like H&M?

Randomly this just reminded me that I read somewhere that Asda have started doing between sizes. I thought I'd dreamt it (?) but I've just googled and the story I found refers to jeans only.

I feel your pain. I never know what size I am. I have trousers in 12 that are way too big, yet the 10 in the same fecking shop is too tight. Stupid sizes.

I went to UniQlo the other day to try some denim shorts. They reckon a size 12 is a 28 inch waist. I thought a 30 inch waist was a 12. Anyway, the 14 (30 inch waist so supposedly actually a 12) were bloody huge, and the 12 with the 28 waist (therefore size 10 surely) were revoltingly tight.

In South Africa sizes are reallly odd - a 34 is a 10, 36 a 12 and so on. Can you imagine how gutted I was when I came over here and suddenly needed a 38-40? ?

You’re definitely not alone in finding yourself stuck between a 12 and 14, as sizes can vary so much from shop to shop. If you’re after a more generous size 12, places like Marks & Spencer, Next, Monsoon, and Boden are worth trying, as their cuts tend to run a little bigger and more forgiving, especially in trousers. On the other hand, if you want a tighter size 14 that feels closer to a 13, Zara, Mango, and sometimes H&M are good bets since their sizing generally comes up smaller. Since you’re specifically looking for grey trousers, M&S and Next are probably the most reliable starting points, as they usually have a wide selection and their 12s are often generous enough to feel comfortable. If you prefer something a bit more fitted, Zara’s 14s might work well. One extra tip is to look for trousers with a touch of stretch in the fabric, as that little bit of elastane can make all the difference when you’re between sizes.

A fall look often begins with a coat: it becomes that very finishing touch that makes the look complete, stylish and comfortable. You want the coat to be not just warm, but truly inspiring - universal, emphasize the figure and mood. You want it to warm on a cool morning, look elegant in the office or on a walk, match with boots or a hat.I recently found a collection that combines practical functionality and designer flair: https://www.beigebrown.com/collections/fall-coats-women . It features versatile styles, from lightweight fall coats to insulated coats, in simple colors and clean lines that can be easily integrated into any wardrobe. I especially liked the options that can be layered and worn in different weather conditions without any extra effort.I definitely recommend checking out the website: Fall Coats Women—you might also find the coat that will become your fashionable foundation for fall.
