Sleepless nights...is this normal??

BrideMrsT2B, 7 June, 2011 at 09:03 Posted on Planning 0 9

Morning Hitchers

Just wondering if this is normal or just another quirk of mine! So I have 18 days to go and for the past few nights i've really struggled to switch of from all things wedding and actually get to sleep at a reasonable time. I'm not worried (yet!) about anything and im happy that everything is either in place or I have got plans to get them in place but I keep running over the day and timings etc.

I really hope this is a phase and that normal sleep service will be resumed and I realllly hope that it doesnt get worse as I would like to try and get a decent nights sleep the night before the wedding.

No bosses in work today so i'm off for a nap in the stationary cupboard ?

Hey I always have issues with sleeping, but because it's my wedding on the 18th I bought some naturasleep to see if that helped. Tried them last night and was straight asleep and didnt wake up in the night at all which I usually do even on a good nights sleep. It might be worth a try? x

Well, only 3 sleeps to go for me Ladies. I'm not having sleepless nights but for the last week or so its taking me ages to get off to sleep coz I keep thinking about things and then as soon as I wake in the morning I have to get up (which is very unlike me!) because I start thinking about things again lol..... I'm so glad I have a make up lady on the day to cover up my dark circles....Smiley smile

Im the same, for the past week I ve been finding it really hard to switch off & sleep. Im nervous, excited, scared & just feel wired up in general. I just cant switch off. Ive got Kalms sleep tablets & i ended up taking one last nite but Im tryin to keep them until about a wk or 2 wks before so I dont get used to them & they dont want in the crucial few days before! But It def helped me get over last nite.x

Just to bore you with my woes, I'm not sleeping at the moment as I have torn my calf muscle and am in so much pain, especially at night! Also, when I do eventually drift off I have wedding dreams, sometimes good ones, but mostly bad.

I have been having a bath before bed though which has helped, and milky drinks (the options cherry hot choc is sooo yummy and seems to do the trick). Oh and OH 'relieving some stress' also helps ?

I'm still 7 weeks away and can't sleep! I've been staying up til two, trying to sleep for a couple of hours and then getting up 4/5 and cleaning/working/organising things. It's been driving W2B crazy as she has trouble sleeping if I'm not in the bed so sometimes I'm ordered to come and lie with her. I try and sleep and all I can think about is flowers, makeup, lists to make etc etc...

and I still have a month and three weeks to go!

Totally normal! I got four hours sleep last ight - i finally fell asleep sometime near 2am, and when the alarm went off at 7 I was not impressed!

I just kept thinkinjg of all the things to do (and the amount of stuff we have to shift down to the venue when we don't own a car!)(taxi here we come!). Plus I have managed to hurt myself (trying to bed in my wedding shoes, got a massive blkister that's gone manky, sorry if it's a bit TMI but I'm panicing in case I still can't walk come saturday!).

Still, not long to go now, eh girls!!!!

just think - when this is all over we'll be able to look back on the best day of our lives....(to date, I suspect having kids may also be a good day!)

As the others said totally normal-I'm the same recently-a surprise from someone who has never had sleep problems before!I try and read to drop off to sleep-it's the early morning wake ups that are a pain.HAven't tried Kalms yet -may give it a whirl.
