"smirnoff or house vodka?"

If I EVER get asked that question again, remind me to ask exactly what I'm getting.

I had three vodkas in a pub last night and only found out far, far too late (when I commented to the barmaid who was cleaning the tables that i was feeling shockingly drunk for three drinks) that the house vodka is served as a double. Three doubles on an empty stomach is not good. ?

I was hugely sick last night (into a saucepan of all things) and spent the night on the living room floor! And now I feel iller than I've felt for a very long time.

Bah.

    It is in Cheltenham - my local pub.

    I know quite a few pubs that serve the house as a double, including the one i used to work in.

    We had to tell the customer it was a double though, bad bar people for not telling you.

    If it'.s any consolation I've spent the last 2 days vomming, and without the pleasure of any vodka passing my lips

    I'm obviously out of touch with town centre pub culture. I'm more a glass of wine in front of a roaring fire in a nice country pub kinda gal (for that, read 'old fogey' ?)
