sneeze diary

cornflake girl, 13 August, 2008 at 14:36 Posted on Off Topic Posts 0 2

This may sound daft but I think I'm going to have to start keeping one of these to identify what my allergens are. I had a shower about an hour ago and I've not stopped sneezing ever since. I've bought a new shampoo and conditioner but have had them before, although I can't remember if they made me sneeze last time I had them as I often have a sneezing fit in the shower. I feel so ill when my allergies make me sneeze and I end up with runny eyes and a sore throat and often an itchy face.

People keep food diaries all the time so does it make sense to keep a diary of when I get the sneezes so I can try and work out the cause? Anyone else suffer with allergic rhianitus (okay, I can't spell my own medical problem ?) and find it affect them in a really bad way?

Just a thought, but do you have any black mould around your bath? I have a never ending battle with the stuff and it makes me sneeze. We invested in a dehumidifier that has got rid of the worst of it.

No, but we do get that around the bathroom window (it's a velux one as it's a loft conversion). Actually, we've just got back from Spain and I found my allergies were nowhere near as bad. I have a dust allergy and I suspect it may be the fact that hotel rooms are cleaned on a daily basis that prevent me from feeling unwell. I do clean my house as best I can but I often get ill while cleaning it.

It sounds like it could be the house if you were better away from home. Be worth keeping a diary though and seeing if it's certain rooms that make it worse.

Baron, can you recommend a de humidifier? I'd like to give one a whirl as we have black mould.
