Social Media Florist Ghosting

Taslima, 21 August, 2021 at 11:28 Posted on Planning 0 5
I have seen this florist on Instagram which I really like and she has everything I’m looking for. There is an enquiry form which I’ve filled in with my details, it’s been a few weeks now and I haven’t heard anything from her. A few days ago I rang the number on her website and left a voice message but I haven’t heard anything back. The florist is still uploading on Instagram so I know she is on social media. Why is she ignoring me? The least she could do is give me a heads up she’s busy or that she’s not available. What do you think I should do?

If it's been a few weeks, I'd start looking elsewhere. It's not very professional to ignore your messages, but it sounds like she's too busy to take on your wedding anyway. There will be other florists out there who can provide what you want, so keep looking

Take photos of what you like to real florists (as in, in person meetings) - they can’t ignore you! Also, you get an idea of what they are like as a person. People who are providing you with a service should give you the feeling that they are trustworthy, which she has not been able to do.

Thank you so much for your advice. I think is definitely time to move on and look elsewhere, it’s a shame when you have your heart set on a particular style. I will be definitely contacting local florists and get a feel of them.

I agree with everyone else - do you want to work with a supplier who is already demonstrating that you aren’t a priority? From my own experience I know that florists are exceptionally busy but each of the ones I’m speaking to / waiting for final quotes from have both been in touch to let me know that they will get back to me as soon as the rush has calmed down. My expectations are managed and it’s fine for me to not hear from them till they are more prepared to focus on my wedding. I’ve had a few photographers never respond and you just have to move on and find someone who can communicate.

Apart from this one that does sound to me like its a non starter especially as the OP has phoned her. But to everyone else please do not give up on your supplier enquiry if you have not heard back from them -- before you have checked your junkbox. I find that hotmail is practically oversensitive to flagging mail as spam.

If I see that any of my enquiry's are from a hotmail account I avoid sending links to weddings I have photographed at their venue because hotmail likes external links even less.
