Somerset field or venue for a teepee wedding

rjm563, 5 January, 2014 at 19:00 Posted on Planning 0 1

Hello,

I was wondering if anyone knows of a field or cottage with land for hire in Somerset (around Taunton) for holding a teepee wedding? We're planning on having the ceremony at Hestercombe Gardens (http://www.hestercombe.com/) and whilst having the teepee there is an option, we really want able to choose my own catering and bring in my own alcohol without corkage charges.

Any suggestions welcome!

    Hi!

I'm new to the forum, I'm looking for a similar thing but closer to Bristol. I have spent aaages on the internet trawling for venues and so have a few suggestions for you:

http://www.coombefarmwoods.co.uk/eco-weddings/coombe-is-a-licensed-devon-wedding-venue - this is outside of Tiverton so maybe not too far?

http://www.cowparsleyweddings.com/cowparsley_weddings/farm_hire.html - based just outside of Taunton, they also have a separate field but probably too far in to Devon

Chew Valley has a dedicated tipi site too http://new.tipievents.co.uk/events-weddings/

Good luck with the search, Hestercombe is really lovely, congratulations!

    Hi Maddie,

I'm new to the site too, and also based in Bristol Smiley smile Thanks for the suggestions, will take a look!

How close to Bristol are you looking for your venue? This place is more towards Glastonbury but looks nice, though they don't have a wedding licence: http://www.theyurtretreat.co.uk/weddings-and-events-venue/

Or you can have the full festival type thing here! http://www.sparkfordhall.co.uk/index.php?page=weddings

I had a friend in the New Forest who managed to rent a bit of land for a few hundred pound, and I think that's what I'm ultimately looking for but it's proving difficult! That way there's no specified caterer, no corkage and I can really put my own stamp on it Smiley smile

Good luck! Let me know how you get on.
