Something different - favors

robertson2b, 29 June, 2011 at 14:16 Posted on Planning 0 12

Hi all

My biggest problem at the moment is deciding on what to have as our favours. Our original plan has fallen through - we were going to have a charactuist draw our guests from photos prior to the wedding. But this has fallen through as the only lady that was able to do it for less than £400 is unable to do it anymore.

Does anyone have any good ideas for favors? At the moment I feel like if we can't come up with something a little bit unique then we won't have anything at all.

Any ideas would be really appreciated.

Thanks

Hi there, i dont know if this would interest you but ive just started doing favours/place names and have already had 3 orders from hitched ladies. they are small wooden hearts on a string personalised to your guests names and your wedding info on the back. if you're interested drop me a message x

I'm giving everyone a napkin ring with their name on it - they then double as place names on the table.

I'm doing fabric hearts scented for the ladies and scratchcards / lottery tickets for the men. Then everyone will have a pink candy striped candy filled bag with their names on as place names. x

You can get personalised wine glass charms from eBay for 99p each and they put the guests names on them so they double as place names...

I like the napkin ring idea but I'm not sure what I'd do at home with a single napkin ring, whereas a wine glass charm I'd probably use to distinguish when guests were over/it was just me and W2B!

I'm not allowed favours apart from our sweets *goes off in a huff*

I'm not allowed favours either - they will just magically appear on the day ?

making my own napkin rings means they are dirty cheap so OH cant really complain Smiley smile

Ohhh good thinking. What do you think would happen if a hired postbox, some favours, a second dress and a caricature artist appeared on the day? hehe Smiley winking

My "husband" (oooh first time i've refered to his as that!) will roll his eyes, sigh and then announce he knew i would do something like that.

although i'm making our postbox. making napkin rings, getting married late in the day (so wont have time for a dress change) and on a tiny budget (so cant aford a caricaturist) otherwise i would!

When are you getting married? Is it a particular date? Or do you have a theme?

I am getting married over Easter so we are going to fill the room with chocolate eggs, so we have decided to gve guests Egg cups as favours/ place names Smiley smile

Our daughter had favours by Lush which were a mix of bath bombs and soaps for the ladies including some for sensitive skins and male soaps too. They come in all shapes and sizes including cake slab pieces of soap! They come ready wrapped with your names and date of wedding etc on:-
