Split sizing?

Should I bother paying for split sizing?
Will I save me money in the long run?
I am smaller on the top than the bottom and my bridal shop want to charge me £250 for split sizing. Anyone have any experience with split sizing and can recommend? Or is it just a money maker?!

Unless your dress has a lot of detail (lace, embroidery etc) on top, then I can't see that it is saving you anything - you're still going to have to get it altered to fit perfectly, even with split sizing.
I would suggest you show a local tailor a picture of the dress, give them your measurements and ask their advice.
