Stag do

cez1987, 12 June, 2015 at 22:30 Posted on Planning 0 16

So out of all the wedding planning, I have left my OH with the job of planning his stag do but after weeks of him moaning that he can't think of anything to do and the best men being chocolate tea pots, I have come to you guys for ideas. My OH is not really an outdoorsy person, he is more of a computer geek into his games consoles and the boring stuff. I have googled everything and I am stumped. I tried to leave him to do it but it looks like he won't have one at this rate. So any ideas would be much appreciated. We are also on a bit of a budget

Hello ? If he doesnt like anything too adventurous and you want to stick to a budget, why not keep it simple-a few drinks, a nice meal out, maybe go see a film or bowling? not very exciting but he could still have a good time with his friends ? x

I say leave him to it. If he doesn't think of anything, he doesn't have one. What, is he gonna go hungry if you don't choose his meals for him? Go out naked if you don't pick out his clothes? You gotta stop this trajectory now.

    Bowling is a great idea.

ID, I am trying to help as my OH is disabled and lacks a lot of confidence. He doesn't have a lot of friends and it's hard for him to get help in this situation. His best men (brother and dad) both have very hectic lives and are not as helpful as we would like. I don't mollycoddle him, I am purely a safety net for him as he is always afraid of failing. He has tried and not succeeded so I am here to help him as a friend should do.

From the sounds of it, he would be happiest at a favourite restaurant with hi his closest fellas nice calm sedate without risk to him, which I can understand, hubby is early blind in one eye and sometimes gets a bit nervous because of it

Alright, I get this. Although I am disabled myself, but I grew up strong as a result, not everybody has the same experience. I just see far too many women on here whose OHs seem like they're basically lazy and happy to leave every aspect of planning to women, and I wouldn't like to think this was another example. I'm glad to hear that's not the case.

How about a day at the seaside going to the arcades? Or a night at the local casino. Sorry if these ideas are naff, stag do are not my forte.

Can I ask a forthright question here please? What type of disability does your OH have? I only ask as It might help to know more for making suggestions.

Don't worry if you don't want to answer though.

My OH planned this when he was best man last year - the groom would have hated a 'typical' stag do. They were worried some guests wouldn't really get into it but they had a great time in the end Smiley smile

    What's a LAN party?

Crazy golf is a good idea. I'm considering FootGolf for mine.

It's basically where people get together with their game consoles and network them all up and play games against each other. It's supremely geeky.

I don't know where abouts in the country you are but in Nottingham there is a gaming bus for hire for parties. It often has offers on groupon. There might be something similar near you.

What about a gaming themed night? Consoles from all the years with variety of games, and a geeky cake or something for them to munch on!

Or. if going out, why not a gaming convention or something? Or of a local old fashioned gaming/computer suppliers may let you hie their space?
