Starters - what did you/have you chosen for your starters?

leffers5555, 27 of August of 2016 at 13:51 Posted on Planning 0 10

Good afternoon

We have chosen our options for main and dessert but are stuck as to what starters are best for our wedding breakfast. We have a huge menu to choose from and are a little stumped!!!

All suggestions much appreciated!

Thank you Smiley smile

We are giving people a choice so our starter choices are:

    Prawn and crayfish cocktail

Ham hock terrine with ciabatta and apricot chutney

Warm goat's cheese tart with red onion marmalade.

We have tried to pick a variety of things which will appeal to everyone x

    They sound amazing!

I think I'm overthinking the whole thing and worrying about potential allergies/likes!

We are going for Butternut squash soup. At least if they dont like the soup, they can have the bread roll Smiley smile

We are having a mini fish and seafood pie for starters. We know that not everyone will be happy/ enjoy this but it's something we both really like!

Recently at weddings I have had crab cakes, chicken and duck liver pate and soup as starters.

We aren't having any as we are having an afternoon tea but we do have canapes going around with an Autumn theme, pumpkin soup shots and a few other idea being floated about.

Don't worry about allergies, ask for allergy details with your RSVPs and then go from there Smiley smile

We will be having a choice of prawn and crayfish cocktail or tomato soup. We've picked what we really want to have to eat. If anyone does have allergies our venue will cater towards it, but we have so much to eat throughout the day that if you don't like a small part of it you won't be going hungry.

And, as a somewhat fussy eater I've gone hungry through weddings before. It's my turn to eat!

We have given guests the choice from a pate or a Goats cheese and tomato tart. Don't worry about allergies at this stage as I'm sure your venue will cater for allergies separately. We have one or two guests who can't eat either of the starters due to allergies and they will amend the starter for them according to their allergy.
