Stepdaughter as bridesmaid

Hi..

I've been reading comments in another discussion about step children being involved in the wedding party where most of the comments were YES.

I would usually agree but my issue is my step daughter has ADHD and is a complete nightmare.. her behaviour is disgusting, she has this 'I will do whatever I want' attitude and I'm worried she will ruin our big day.

I appreciate my H2B wants her there and I can't say no to that but now he has asked if she can be a bridesmaid. That means she will be with me prior to the ceremony. She won't be any help and only a hindrance. She's very disrespectful towards me, she will not do anything I ask her so I do not believe she will be any different on my wedding day.

I'm considering announcing to my H2B that I don't want any bridesmaids just to solve my problem.

    You shouldn't have to have a bridesmaid you don't feel comfortable with, nor should you have to avoid having the bridesmaids you do want just so that you don't have to have your stepdaughter. Can she not be included in her dad's side of the wedding party if he wants her to have a role? Maybe as his 'best girl' instead of best man?
