Stinky tenderstem broccoli??

AnnaBanana, 17 of August of 2009 at 17:32 Posted on Off Topic Posts 0 1

In the past few months we've had a few times where the tenderstem broccoli we buy from Tesco has smelled really really bad when its freshly bought. We get it delivered by them, comes in the plastic tray with shrink wrap round it. Its weird as we usually order 2, and often one smells, the other doesn't. I used to think it was just because it was wrapped, but even after cooking it stinks and smells awful so we couldn't eat it. Any ideas why this could be? is it some sort of broccoli characteristic? just curious really.

TIA!

I bought it once from M&S and had the same problem, it smelled so awful I've avoided it ever since.

Yeah H hasn't been too keen, but when its nice, its really lovely and buttery, it just seems odd that the odd batch smells so bad!
