Stopping guests uploading pictures of our children

RomanticIvoryFlowers35819, 12 January, 2020 at 22:36 Posted on Planning 0 4

We are not having children at our wedding other than our own daughter and our niece who are three weeks apart and will be 16 month's old when we get married.

Our daughter and our niece will be our flower girls.

Neither us or my niece's parents post on social media, and we certainly don't want pictures of our children on the internet for everyone to see.

We would actually prefer guest's didn't take any pictures of our children but outright don't want any pictures posted at any point of them.

We will be having an unplugged ceremony, but has anyone got any advice or experience on how to communicate our wishes to our guests?

Thanks

I went to a wedding in September and all guests were asked on behalf of the bride and groom to not take photo’s as they wanted all pics to be by the photographer. You could say that?

Or have an announcement where guests are asked not to post any pics to social media. That is a common request too!

    Good luck x

I would include your wishes when you send out your wedding invites - maybe if you do an 'info sheet' of some kind (e.g. travel info, gift list info etc) you could include it on that. You can then also have whoever is welcoming people to your wedding restate your wishes on the day. Most people should be used to these kinds of requests, so as long as you let them know your wishes, it shouldn't be a problem.

I would include a small paragraph in your invitations.

Personally I have included a paragraph asking for photos not to be posted until the next day,

I have also been to weddings where they have asked for nobody to post until the bride does.

It's your day, you can make any request you want x

Don't forget to also tell your suppliers I have heard of some MUA posting photos as soon as they leave in the morning. Wedding transport people also like to take a few shots and post them of bride and groom with the car.

Whatever else you do, make sure the minister or registrar announces it before you enter the ceremony room.
