Struggling to choose a dress style

I always thought that once I was engaged I'd get to try on dresses and make a real decision on what style I want to narrow down the choice rather than be constantly indecisive. As a fashion grad who does have a mentor who makes wedding dresses I don't want to start the making process when I'm uncertain. How is everyone else making this decision and staying focused because at this rate I will have 5 outfit changes ? across 2 days that are a year apart ??

    Have you tried on any dresses yet? Even if you are planning on making your own, you really need to try some on first, to work out what you like and what you don't.

    I found it helped to concentrate on silhouette first, and once I knew what silhouette worked, I could focus on details like neckline, back, pattern etc.

    Yes a couple to see different necklines and silhouettes sleeves etc but I liked all including when I have been modeling for my mentor ? I don't know whether to stick with this silhouette or go for something either straight or shorter Struggling to choose a dress style 1

    Have you got any friends or family you can ask for advice? Ideally people who can focus on what looks good on you, rather on what they would like/had for their own wedding. Also, think about where you will be getting married and what style of wedding you will be having as that will affect the style of dress.

    Yeah I'm keeping dress selection to me my mum and sister as they are always honest about what looks good on me and will keep it focused to what I want while we figure it out and narrow it down. I guess I just have to try on a few more to get the right idea.
