Successfully drying rose petals

HappyGirl, 30 June, 2008 at 17:18 Posted on Planning 0 2

Can anyone give me any pointers on how to do this. I have some lovely roses in the garden and would like to be able to dry some of the petals for my brothers wedding in September.

Thanks

well, what i do is take the rose, spray it with hair spray and then leave it in an airing cupboard or somewhere warm. Once its dried the petals can then be gently removed from the stem. I've kept all my roses that ive ever been given and some are now in petal form.....

I recently dried a rose by hanging it upside down in a dark cupboard for 10 days. I was worried it'd go yellow or brown as it was pale cream to start with, but it's kept the colour quite well.
