Suede shoes

Hayley, 16 of March of 2022 at 10:40 Posted on Wedding Attire 0 13
Would you risk it with a wedding that will involve quite a lot of time outdoors on grass?

If it is not wet then you sould be ok, you can spray them with suede protector spray before hand

That's the trouble, won't know until the day.

I wouldn’t risk it tbh - but the decision is yours. I’ve never used suede protector spray, but if it’s good I suppose you could treat them beforehand and it won’t matter either way then.

Thanks. I am thinking it won't be worth it. Found some absolute beauties but I would hate to ruin them. They do come in a faux leather version too which is almost as nice.

I wouldn't risk it either to be honest, I used to love suede shoes and had a few pairs including some highly fashionable mules back in the day! But haven't worn them for a while after a bad experience with damp grass!

I'd definitely try to protect them with something, but really it depends on the colour of the shoes.

I've bought faux-suede for my bridesmaids, and honestly it never even occurred to me that it might be an issue - we're getting married in October and are hoping to be outside if possible...

Now gonna have to go find out if faux-suede needs a protector... lol.

Unless you're seriously planning on wearing these shoes after your wedding day, I'd be tempted to risk it! 3rd September is still likely to be dry so I think it would be quite unlucky to get a rainy day. If your thinking these shoes will be a wardrobe staple going forward, then maybe still get them anyway, but definitely a cheap pair of back up wet weather shoes just in case.
