We used Moss Bros last year for a DJ and the customer service was shocking! Debenhams on the other hand have been very helpful with OH changing his mind all the time about what suit he wants and when he's going in for an appointment.

Having said that, these things are down to the people in the shops rather than anything else. It could be that your Moss Bros is brilliant and Debenhams is rubbish. Where abouts are you? Maybe someone local can be more helpful?

Thanks for your reply ! I'm in London. Can I ask what prices they both quoted you?

One of my couples was badly let down by Moss Bros. Out of 5 suits only 2 were right. They arrived on the Weds for a Saturday wedding and Moss said there was nothing they could do at such short notice. Bride's dad had to buy a suit at Debenhams.

My OH has just picked up his suit today to be best man at a wedding next weekend. Its from debenhams, youngs suit hire, they look great and it was all pretty simple and easy for all members of the bridal party to be measured up etc. Can't tell you how much though as the groom has paid. Xx

We've booked our suits from Moss, guys will be going in July to be measured. I know they have had bad reviews, but to be fair when we researched all the national chains (inc. Debenhams/Austin Reed/Greenwoods) they all had a fair few bad reviews. We went to Meadowhall a few times to have a look at suits, and went in Moss, Debenhams and Austin Reed on every occasion, and the only shop that made any effort was Moss; their staff couldn't have been more helpful. They let Mr K try on the suit that he liked - digging out a shirt and shoes to try on with it too and swapping ties around, and all of this before we'd even paid a deposit or verbally agreed to book with them. In Debenhams we never once got approached by a member of staff to ask if we needed any help, regardless of how long we hung around their hire section. When we did ask for some help they didn't have the suit in that Mr K wanted to look at (a silk one) so we would have been booking 'blind' so to speak.

Our suits will be arriving in store On the Monday, ready for our wedding on the Friday, so leaving 3 clear days to rectify any issues.

I think the best thing to do is something similar to what we did and go to both shops for a bit of a reckie. Based on customer service alone there was only one winner for us.

I went to moss bros to enquire and got the worst customer service ever. But then I went to Debenham and they didn't seem to know one end of a suit from the other so no luck with either unfortunately.

We have chosen to go to a small indipendant chain who were really helpful and competitively priced xx

Bad experience with both of these, rude customer service. Debenhams is a nightmare to try samples on, moss bros came across so arrogant and unorganised. We paid more and went to an independent specialist suit shop. Would rather pay a bit more and have a good, reliable service.

Well I must say we had a great experience at moss bros today! The guy helping us was wonderful. Friendly and really helpful. We got 7 three piece suits for £650. That includes cover for any stains, damage etc. And grooms suit for free! Very happy.
