Suppliers not replying (rant)

rusticbride90, 22 March, 2016 at 09:47 Posted on Planning 0 27

Hi all..

Getting frustrated with a few suppliers who just will not respond to me!

One is a videographer and one a magician. Seen them both at a wedding fayre and really want to arrange a booking with them but will they heck get back to me with a quote, or even acknowledgement of my email.

Its pretty frustrating as I really want them both and compared to others I have seen they were perfect. I understand they will be busy but this was 2 weeks ago and I dont want to, nor feel I should have to, keep pestering them.

Has anyone else had this issue? Its making me want to take my business elsewhere as I find it just plain rude that they are ignoring a potential customer, but on the other hand I really want them ?

I'm thinking of a 3 strikes and you're out approach.. ill contact 3 times and if no further forward I'll give up.. am I being a bridezilla and over reacting? Its stressful enough contacting all of the suppliers you need for a wedding so I just feel its becoming a hassle to have to chase someone endlessly for a pricelist!!

I had a similar experience with my reception venue so I understand your frustration! I emailed 3 times with no reply then my H2B called them a few times and left messages with members of staff who said the manager would get back to us. Eventually we decided to just turn up at the venue- we called again while on route and said we were on our way. When we got there they were incredible, gave us such great customer service and really made us feel welcome. It drove me mad that it had been such a struggle to get to that point though!

I would say if you really want them stick with it, email them, call them and if you can visit them then do. We almost gave up, we went to look at other venues and were just about to book one but I'm so glad we didn't.

I think it's important to get a real feel for your suppliers though- if it seems like you will be constantly chasing them and adding to your stress once the booking is made then you need to weigh up whether it is worth it.

    Hope that helps! Good Luck!

I know the feeling. We found a venue that we both liked and contacted them. It took over a week to reply and i replied within the hour so they were in the office yet it took another 12 days to respond by which time we had booked somewhere else as we dont expect such terrible customer service for queries.

Another place (reception venue after the above) replied that evening and asked for our phone number to call us. I provided one and said to call the following night - Not a call back. I left it until three days later and sent an email saying we hadnt had a phone call - Im still awaiting a reply several weeks later.... Good job im now not going with them!

Lastly the venue and reception where we are having our do at; we booked and appt and everything was fine and provisionally booked pending the registrar on the Monday. Called back on Monday and gave our details to take a card payment and left it. Noticed on the Friday that payment / official contract still hadnt been taken / sent so called back up and payment was taken on the phone. It then took another week and a half and three or four more chasers for the contract. I would have left it but having given a large chunk of money for a deposit and it being us. Luckily we now dont have to contact them until nearer the time and face to face they are a lot better - it was just too far for us to travel.

We have contacted a few other people and they just seem so blaze about responding if they bother to reply at all. My issue is I'm practically giving these people a license to print money yet they dont seem interested in any customer service at any level.

We've tended to discount anyone who's not very good at responding to queries & going elsewhere, mainly because I don't want to have to worry nearer the time that I can't get hold of people or that they're a bit flakey - however not so easy to do if you have your heart set on particular suppliers.

I am notoriously impatient when organising stuff - goes with the territory in my job I think! Smiley smile

Have you checked your junk mail?

I got really cross that somebody hadn't replied and the message had gone there, where it sat unread for a week!

I would send another email, or call them, but if you don't hear back it may be best to take your business elsewhere.

    xx

Yeah i have checked junk mail and nothing Smiley sad ive even resorted to facebook messaging them ?

I seen the magician again at another wedding fayre on sunday and was going to ask why he didnt reply lol but didnt want to embarrass him or myself infront of lots of other people. Ill give them both a call today and if no further forward ill give up I think. We dont NEED a magician ha although I do reeeeally want him. And as for the videographer.. i love his work so will struggle to find someone as good but he obviously doesnt need our business ha

    Where abouts are you based?

If you're near the Midlands, I can recommend both an excellent videographer and magician, as we have also booked both Smiley winking

I refuse to book anyone who doesn't get back to me! (I also refuse to book anyone who stalks me, like a particular photographer did!) I figure that if they can't even be bothered to reply to me, then how can I rely on them to function or turn up on the day?

I had this issue with a wedding venue (Braxted Park). I emailed them about booking a viewing and got no response. I sent them a query through their website and no response. I then called and left a message and they still didn't get back to me!

I also had this issue with a videographer who never got back to me despite two emails. I saw on their FB page that people were saying they hadn't got back to them either which ruled them out for me. I also was speaking with another videographer who never bothered to answer my last email but is always posting on Instagram which p*ssed me off as well so I wouldn't use them out of principal.

I'm you will find someone else just as good. Can you try some other wedding fairs where there might be different suppliers? Or Facebook? X

    Update!!

My magician has got back to me!!...well I found another way off pestering him to be truthful, but it worked and he replied within the hour ? so he is back in my good books.

Our photographer has recommended some videographers to me too just incase I decide to ditch this one who is being ignorant ha

Excuse the post hijack but can you let me know who your magician is please Stephisaur? We might be a bit too far south but I don't even know where to start so could be a good starting point, thanks!

    Mmmm...

I'd be worried if they can't respond quickly in the quiet part of the year..not sure when your wedding is but if it's in the summer I wouldn't have much confidence in a fast reply at the busiest time!

    No excuse for slow replies.

His name is Owen Strickland - I was really impressed!

He did this one trick - he gave my dad a lighter and then asked me to pick a card. I picked it and kept it to myself. He told me to sign it and put it back in the pack. He then did the usual tricks of making it appear in his pocket, swapping the deck for a clear Perspex block etc etc. Then, at the end, he asked my dad to light the lighter. He tried, but couldn't. So, Owen opened the lighter and there was my signed card inside!

Booked him on the spot lol

    xx

Supplier non-responses often come from inconsistent outreach, unclear value proposition, or lack of structured follow-ups. Improving message clarity, using multiple contact channels, and setting a proper follow-up cadence can significantly increase reply rates. Segmenting suppliers through ICP-driven targeting also helps prioritize reliable partners. I don't think you're overreacting at all. Waiting two weeks without even a quick reply would make me question how reliable they'd be on the actual wedding day. Good communication is a huge part of customer service. I've had similar experiences while planning trips for Mytravelheaven , and if a business doesn't respond after a few attempts, I usually move on to someone who values potential customers.

I understand the frustration when wedding suppliers don’t reply, especially when you’re trying to make important decisions and keep everything organised. Small details like choosing the right shoes can also become part of the planning stress, so having options like Floral Heels can help when finalising the overall look. Clear communication really makes the whole process feel much easier for couples.

Dealing with delayed replies from suppliers can be frustrating, especially when you are waiting on something important and need clear communication. Having reliable options makes the process smoother, and choosing practical upgrades like a Soft Roll Up Tonneau cover can help avoid unnecessary hassle when managing your truck needs. A straightforward service experience and dependable products always make a big difference.

Planning a wedding can already be stressful, and waiting for suppliers to reply only makes things harder when important bookings and payments are involved. Having the correct banking details is equally important when handling transactions, especially for international transfers where a SWIFT code helps ensure funds reach the right destination. Resources like https://mybankbalancecheck.com/fab-swift-code/ provide details about the FAB SWIFT code and related banking information that can help avoid unnecessary payment delays.

When suppliers go quiet it adds unnecessary stress, especially during wedding planning when every update matters. A clear follow up message is often enough, and if you want it to catch their attention without changing your wording, https://myfancytextgenerator.com/ lets you turn plain text into stylish Unicode fonts that can be copied and pasted for messages, bios, captions, and other text across supported platforms. Using a subtle text style can help your message stand out, but if there is still no reply after a few polite attempts, it is probably worth choosing a supplier who communicates better.

Good communication is still one of the biggest signs of a reliable supplier. If replies are slow before you've even booked, it can make planning much more stressful. Looking through recent work, like the healthy, silky results shared by https://biosilkco.com/ and the use of silk infused hair care such as serums, shampoos, conditioners, heat protectants, and styling products, can help when comparing options, but clear and timely communication should always be part of the experience too.

When suppliers stop replying, it can be frustrating because trust and communication are important before making any decision. The same applies when choosing truck accessories, where clear product details help buyers feel confident. The Extang Solid Fold 2.0 for RAM 1500 is designed with durable panels, weather resistant seals, a tri fold design for easier bed access, clamp on installation without drilling, and support for up to 400 pounds of distributed weight, making it a practical option for protecting cargo.

Planning a wedding can already feel overwhelming, and waiting for suppliers to reply only adds more frustration. Once the serious decisions are handled, adding simple entertainment ideas can help create fun memories with guests. https://truthordarequests.com/ has a collection of Truth or Dare questions and challenges that can work well for parties, couples, and group activities, making it a nice option for breaking the ice during celebrations.

When suppliers are slow to reply, it can be especially frustrating when you are trying to organise everything around an important date. For anything health related that needs arranging beforehand, Swift Blood Tests UK could be worth considering if you need a convenient testing option without adding more waiting around. It is one of those details that can be easier to sort early rather than chasing people at the last minute.
