Suprise Hen for mil

Sarah, 31 of July of 2024 at 15:46 Posted on Etiquette and Advice 0 1
I'm getting married in couple months and I have been invited to a hen party called "SURPRISE Mother of the Grooms hen evening". I have been invited to this event as a guest with no prior warning or asking if I'm ok with it. It is being organised by MILs friend (she's not invited to the wedding) with the assistance from future SIL.

The first time I heard of this event was when I was added to the group. Is this normal? I can't help but feel quite uncomfortable and think it's completely inappropriate. Has anyone heard of this before?

It's unusual, but I wouldn't say it's inappropriate - unless you have good reason to suspect otherwise, I'd just assume that your MIL is trying to do something nice for you. If you are anxious about what is involved, then could you ask your fiance to do a bit of tactful snooping on your behalf?
