Sweet pea bouquets

CSayer, 6 February, 2011 at 16:34 Posted on Planning 0 9

I'm looking for ideas for a sweet pea bouquets. Sweet peas are my birth flower and so I would love to have them. My colour scheme is chocolate and cream so white or really deep red would go well.

I'm considering aritificial ones as sweet peas are very delicate and may not look their best on the day if they're real.

Any ideas or any clue about prices?

    Hi There,

Its great timing for them, and massed in a hand tie like you photo they do well. They are thirsty, bu I tend to put an aqua pack on the bottom of my bouquets so they have accress to water right to the last minute.

You will get english grown from May - July (they are not the cheapest tho!) - great choice so romantic!

    Good luck

They are extremely realistic in their artificial form. I used them in both these bouquets in hot pink and blue and purple and also in blue in this corsage:-

Sorry! Edited to say that they do come in warm white as well! Der silly me!

I've got artificial sweetpeas in pink and purple though! My BMs bouquets and the buttonholes are made up solely of them and mine has helleborous and lisianthus mixed in. I love them ?

    Hi Sherrie

Could you let me know roughly how much two artificial bouquets like these would be but with a brown ribbon instead of the white? ?

Can I just say I love sweetpeas. I grow them every year, and have never heard of anyone putting them in a bouquet. Few people even cut them for table flowers.

But its a lovely idea! Sweet (pun not intended)

    Hi Mrs Smith

They are very popular in the summer for bouquets and centres, but are not as easy to come by as you might expect! I guess it is that fact that we need them commercially grown, with a good head at the top of a long stem, rather than in their natural habit.

Here is one I did last summer for a summer flower themed wedding
