Sweets for sweet table

Sarah5790, 1 June, 2014 at 12:07 Posted on Planning 0 13

As were having a lot of children at our evening do I was going to put on a sweet table. I was just wondering if anyone could recommend what types of sweets would be good and also where I may be able to buy sweets/chocolate in bulk or for a resonable price.

Thanks in advance

Www.tradesweets.co.uk or the £1 shop? Just think about what the temperature will be like on the day, if it's likely to be hot you don't want melted chocolate on little hands......especially near your dress!! xx

Costco is good for sweets if there's one near you. I've noticed they have a good range in Poundstretcher/Instore too.

Liquorice allsorts look nice, and they are very popular. Some of the ones that look good, eg flying saucers, tend not to get eaten. As a photographer, I'm a veteran attendee at sweet buffets!

I'd avoid chocolate or else the kids will get it everywhere.

Amazon have a lot of sweets for sale in their grocery section at pretty good prices.

I'd go with classtic retro sweeties. Like cherries, giant strawbs, cols bottles, milk bottles, maybe some jazzies or chocolate mice if it's not too hot, flying saucers, jelly babies, friendship rings. And a few love hearts thrown in for good measure. Classics! Will appeal to young ones and grown ups alike.

Don't forget to get some little bags for people to put their loot in!

If you have any vegetarian guests, make sure you have some non-jelly ones they can eat. I vote flying saucers, I love those Smiley smile

    Costcos, amazon etc.

Worth getting either scoops or things that are individually wrapped for the sake of hygiene!

Mmmm I can't wait to start making my sweet buffet I am a complete sugar addict!! I am thinking Jelly Babies, candy letters, cola bottles, flying saucers, allsorts that kind of thing. There are some Ebay retro sweet shops that are doing 7 for 6 on bags of sweets (from 100g to 1kg) with free delivery.
