Syon Park

carissairene, 23 March, 2009 at 12:16 Posted on Planning 0 1

We are currently looking for our 'perfect venue' and wondering what the reviews, comments and thoughts are from anyone who has had or been to a wedding at Syon Park. We definitely like the look of it on paper, just looking for some experienced views please!

Thank you in advance!

    Hi

Not been to a wedding there I'm afraid but we don't live that far away from there and it looks beautiful.

Not sure how well you know the venue/area but just something to bear in mind. I'm not sure where you would enter the house from but the grounds and surrounding area are open to the public (they may restrict access for weddings but I don't know) and there is a garden centre adjacent to the house (and a tropical zoo type thing). Although it shouldn't affect you there may be alot of people around.

And also it is right under the flight path into Heathrow. We were at the garden centre yesterdy and it was a beautiful day but when the planes come in (and they are low at that point) you can't talk to each other without shouting. If you are inside all the time again probably won't affect you but if you have a marquee or lawn reception then something to bear in mind.

I think Syon park would be a lovely venue for a wedding, the planes don't go that close, and tbh you probably won't notice them with all the celebrating you'll be doing.

The conservatory and grounds are really lovely on a sunny day!...and it's close to my home so I can pop by for a nose
