Table name ideas?

One of our couples had real ale beer mats - not to everyone's taste but a bit different! Or what about places in your home town that have special memories for you e.g where you had your first date, a favourite day out?

My partner loves whiskey and so do a few of his friends so we are naming our tables after the different whiskeys they love such as Lagavulin, laphroaig, Talisker etc

How about minatures as favours- not sure about the ladies, or how eaisy to get hold of laphroaig minis or ?a cost issue?

We got engaged in New York so are doing our fave landmarks we visited x

I did mine this weekend, we are having words that are important to us now and will be throughout our marriage, heres a few below

I reckon anything is better than numbers - some I have come across:-

- Favourite places

- Pub names

- Football teams, any sports theme

- Types of butterfly/birds/flowers/animals

- Favourite albums/bands/tunes

- Favourite films (worked well at Pinewood Studios)

- Cuts of meat (really, fob was a butcher)

- Favourite wedding suppliers (ok, I just made that one up)

I think you just have to think of some shared interest/in joke for you and OH, and take table names from there!

One of my brides did the word LOVE in different languages

As the OH and I both have a parent who have passed away, our tables are being names after people we love who can't be with us to share our day. It was import at to us that there is something on the day in memory of them. So we have my father, his mother and 2 much missed grandparents and the top table will just be the top table! Ours is only a small wedding of 50 and the tables seat ten so worked out.

You should try to think of something that means something to the both of you or has something to do with the theme of the wedding.

We've been living in NZ for the last 3 years so we have a slight NZ theme going on and will be using Maori love words for our table names.

If couples have a theme then their table names often reflect this. If not, how about popular phrases, flowers, types of chocolate (Belgian etc), cocktails, retro sweets, fav film titles/ characters/actors, champagne brands, underground st/lines or countries you would like to visit.
