I made flags with the table numbers on and then put them in milk bottles with sand and pearls ;-)

We had 17 tables and I really didn't want there to be any sort of perceived hierarchy so I had names instead of numbers. We named them after the street names of places where we've spent time together/lived etc.

Our current plan is to use table names, which are rugby related as that's how me and OH met. I think we would have problems with table numbers xx

We are having years. with pictures of us both in those years. so the year we were born, the year we met, year we started school, year we got together, and obviously the year we are getting married.

I haven't made them yet but this is my inspiration, we are also having photo cubes on each table of us through the years, and pictures in the table plan. Now i just have to try to find pics of my OH without his twin in them!

We're using table numbers as it will be the most simple solution as a lot of my OH's family who will be coming over from Poland do not speak/read English. I got these numbers from ebay and we're going to spray paint them gold to fit in with our theme:

I'm planning on having tables of love in different languages. I couldn't find much inspiration when looking for ideas on this.

We're having the names of our favourite holiday/weekend break destinations and trying to put people on those tables that we shared the time with.

I originally wanted tables of love in different languages. I think that's a great idea. But I had to let my fiancé have some say on the planning and he wanted something a bit more personal. So we have decided on places we have been on dates ?

We're naming our tables because I have heard of comments about hierarchy regarding numbers which is just flat out ridiculous but hey.

It's also just an excuse to get our game if thrones theme thrown in again as the tables will be the names of the houses (yes, we are massive geeks).

We've chosen to have pictures of our favourite film couples instead of table numbers Smiley smile
So our table is Jack & Sally from NBC, my friends table could be Superman & Lois Lane, my aunts & uncles table might be Iron Man/Tony Stark & Pepper Potts etc
(yes, I'm well aware that we're weird haha!)

We haven't decided yet but I like the idea of having famous couples but that are more relevant to the stuff we like and our generation, rather than the usual 'Romeo & Juliet'!

So I was thinking Star Wars (Han Solo & Leia), Game of Thrones (Jon Snow & Ygritte, or Drogo & Daenerys, or Ned & Catelyn Stark), Friends (Ross & Rachel), The Walking Dead (Maggie & Glenn), The Big Bang Theory (Penny & Leonard), Harry Potter (Harry & Ginny, or Ron & Hermione), Wall.e (Wall.e & Eve) The Addams Family (Morticia & Gomez), I could go on.. But I won't lol

But I wasn't sure how this would go down with older generation like my Grandparents, as they wouldn't know who most were and I didn't want to confuse people!

If we do numbers I intend to do something with chalk board myself.

Our favourite holiday together has been Florida so we've decided to have a bit of a Florida/Disney theme - our tables will be named after the Florida theme parks.

You could put them on ----- errr, Ginga Rodgers and Fred Astair or ---- how old are they, maybe Cleopatra and Mark Anthony ?

I saw this once and the top table famous couple was (of course ) the bride and grooms names

No seating plan this time, but at my first wedding we used the names of our grandparents. We only had one living grandparent between us, so he sat on the table named for him. It was a nice way to acknowledge loved ones who had passed and was a talking point as well.

We took photos of ourselves holding Giant wooden numbers and made these into our table numbers. We love it as we didn't have a specific theme but this still gives a very personal touch. We found that our guests were going round the different tables to look at the different photographs Smiley smile

We made ours personal to us and they don't go in any particular order (we have a 6.5 for example!)

we have then also used the frames across other areas inside as shown by our mini dessert table signs

i know the car one is weird - it's what we are known for Smiley smile

We had a monopoly theme so the table names and name cards were the deed cards you get in the game.

I haven't got a photo to hand but there's one under my 'best stationary' nomination on the awards thread.

As I love musicals we are having tables named after the musicals we have been to see together - not sure how we are going to do it yet though (design wise!)

Were having table names rather than numbers because we liked the idea of it.

We like champagne, no actually we LOVE it! so were going to name all of our tables after our favourites Smiley smile It will certainly get a laugh

On the subject though were having trouble finding stands or something to display our table names in. They will be 7x5 card styled and made to match our invitations which were making at the minute. Anyone got any great ideas?

We are both pretty creative so can probably make something just lacking some inspiration on this one at the minute.....

I'd probably use empty champagne bottles! Put the card on a stick and put it in the bottle!

I didn't like the idea of table numbers so I'm having tables named after different beers and using those beer bottles as our table decorations.

I had bought some lovely glass candle holders as my centrepieces, so these candles were my inspiration for our table numbers, and I found a lady on ETSY to sort them for me :-)

I really love this idea - but as there is 9 years between OH and I it would look a bit odd! For example; when I was born OH was 9 years old and on OH's 18 birthday I was 9 years old. It's not a problem now, but when you think of it in those terms in does sound a little weird!
