Does anyone know whether the above is an emergency tax code? I cannot find any information about it and believe I'm being charged too much tax on my wages...

Not got a clue about tax codes but your tax and NI should add up to roughly 21% of your wage.

Apparently 0 means that your tax free pay is nil. Do you have more than one job or are you a student?
