Tea Length Dress on Ebay (£79)...

IshouldCoco, 12 June, 2012 at 09:12 Posted on Planning 0 41

£79 delivered on Ebay. Feedback seems good etc,

Would you risk it?

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Tea-length-Lace-Sleeves-Tulle-A-line-Wedding-dress-Bridal-Gown-Size-Free-/320913094301?pt=UK_Wedding_Dresses&var=&hash=item76c24e855b

Not having much luck with things lately. We've just had to book a new, dearer venue with 3mths months to go. If I don't find a cheap tea length dress or less than £150 I'm going to be stuck in a huge dress the whole day and the weight and train is making me dread the idea ☹️

Anyway, what do you reckon?

Gorgeous! Buy it! Did Kharv have this dress?

EDIT: Oh hang on, just looked at the listing and saw it will be coming from China. How much time have you got before the wedding? Perhaps you could get in touch with Kharv and ask her where she got hers?

    I don't know? Did she?

    *Looks about for Kharv*

    Is it a copy then?

The first dress I got is a copy of an Angela Faccenda dress, it's lovely, but the 4 times I've tried it on it's scared me as, even with hoop, it's very difficult to walk in!

I love the top half (the skirt looks to have quite a harsh bottom edge but that might be me). I'm not sure I'd risk it though. Unless in your head you can deal with possibly writing off the £79?

    Have you tried honeypie boutique?

There are good reviews, but it says 40-52 WORKING days, which I'd say is cutting it close, leaving little room for last minute fixes should anything go wrong. Try looking on here: http://www.forherandforhim.com. They have several dresses which when translated to GBP, would be in your price range. I just learned about this website. It's backed by several wedding websites; they provide free worldwide shipping; and I think they are a US company. Personally, within your time frame, I'd rather work with a reputable corporate outfit than a lone person in China.

    Cross posted!

Yes, I wasn't overly keen on them as only one had the sleeves I wanted, but not the right back.

I love a couple of these Allfordresses, but I'm scared to order as they're so much and also done in China. (So a 6wk wait).

    Link won't work..?.

Kharvo had the dress that this one is based on.

Doesnt seem too bad, although it doesn't include the petticoat and all that jazz so you may end up spending double the money on getting all the bits to go with it.

Phase Eight have some lovely tea length dresses at the mo, around the £150 mark...

Yep, in Liverpool. I guess I could look in there couldn't I. I'd feel nicer in a new dress though I think. Man, I feel like I'm being dead fussy and without the money to be!

The BHS ones look okay actually. I wonder if you could put a bigger petticoat under to bulk them out abit at the bottom?

Yes, let us know Who-Me, checked their shop, but nothing really that suits ☹️

Hmm, have you looked at HoneyPie boutique? Vivian of Holloway? Joanne Fleming does Tea Lengths, normally they are made to measure so are quite dear but I got mine as a sample so it was much cheaper, you could contact her and find out?

Ah, you've a good eye, Nicky. I looked at that one for a while last week. Wasn't keen on the plain zip back though.

Have you heard of http://www.forherandforhim.com/little-white-dress_c87.html? Those are some of their shorter white wedding dresses. I just saw them profiled on Style Me Pretty. They seem reputable, and the US prices translate to within your budget. Provide free worldwide shipping as well. And their timeframe seems to be 10-14 days.

    Thank for replies...

Couldn't see what I'm looking for on the the him Ad her website.

I don't think I'll be able to stretch to a fascinator too, but I'll have a look Smiley winking

Sian, I love that and one of her others, but it is a Chinese seller. She's based in the Wirral and ships from China. It says 7-8wks on delivery on that ad too Smiley sad

No worries, gives me something to do. I thought number 1 was ok as postage is 4-7 days. Oh well, was just a thought.

Love the tea length style dresses, esp the 4th one - its so cute!
