Teal Wedding

MrsT2B2012, 11 January, 2012 at 19:47 Posted on Planning 0 17

Evening everyone ?

I am currently planning a teal wedding. I recieved my bridesmaid dresses today which is a more bluey teal than I had imagined. I was thinking of adding a different colour in the boquet that would maybe bring out the green undertones.

I have thought about orange as I am getting married in September so would be good for Autumn, but I can't seem to find any artificial flower bouquets that I like.

Another idea was fuschia pink, but I didn't know if that would work?

Any ideas would be very helpful Smiley smile

Thanks

We're having teal and fucshia. My bridesmaids are in knee length teal dresses with a big fucshia bow (so gorgeous I want one too!) and the men are having teal cravats. The flowers are starburst lillies (I think thats what they're called!) the colours look gorgeous together IMO anyway!!

Gorgeous dress. It is more leaning towards peacock shades than teal and orange would look amazing with it. Orange and blue are complimentary colours on the colour wheel no matter what shades of each colour they are. For example, pastel blue compliments peach and so on through all the shades, tones and hues. You will struggle to find 'teal' flowers that look realistic in artificial as this is not a natural colour for flowers to grow in so a complimenting contrast would be the best way to go forward. Hot pink and yellow are also good colours with teal. I've done quite a few 'teal' weddings over the years and I've attached some photos below of the flowers these Brides used although I will warn you that 'teal' is a notorious colour which means many different shades to different people! All these are artificial flowers and I offer a nationwide mail order service.

I'm having turquoise theme. My bridesmaids are in turquoise and they're having cream gerberas for their bouquet, as am I.

Victoria at Tiara Boutique (you will find her on facebook) makes some amazing bouquets using silk flowers. I am having a Teal wedding and she is making my bouquet using ivory roses but incorporating teal details using crystals and brooches

I think purple and teal look good together balanced out with ivory/creams.

Don't forget you dont have to stick to one shade of each colour, you could go for a more relaxed look rather than matchy matchy IYKWIM

I love this dress! I know you were worried about the lack of green but I really think this colour will look stunning in your photos. I also think a touch of orange would be first of all fun, bit quirky and secondly it's a complimentary colour to Blue/teal on the colour wheel Smiley winking

We are also having teal too... What awkward colours we've chosen hehe!! I m really loving the idea of the purple within the flowers and bringing in hints of purple too throughout the day as I think the colours look beautiful together. I also googled 'teal and purple weddings' for a dash of inspiration....hope this helps xx

    Hello another teal wedding here.

thinking of adding brown as a colour but not too sure.

Got my bridesmaids 50s swing dress with a big ivory petticoat underneath.

Why not take a dress to a local haberdashery and see if there is a colour that you like?

    Peacock feathers sound great. X
