Tescos wedding cakes

willownat1, 25 August, 2008 at 18:58 Posted on Planning 0 11

Has anyone seen these? I saw them in my local Tescos the other day and I must say they looked nicer than the M & S ones we were looking to get.

Also I wondered has anyone tasted these? I really am tempted to say stuff it and just get 3 of the big ones for our wedding.

I test tasted one of these as an option for my do Willownat, and they taste REALLY nice - the only reason I went for M&S in the end was that we didnt want all fruit (well, I did, cos I's love fruit cake, but no one else seemed to think it a good idea)

I'm assuming you're talking about the iced fruit cake?

Infact, I seem to recall I taste tested two of the smallest cakes .... <fat bloater icon>

M&S & tesco are made by the same company, the only differences are the icing may be different and the box.

My husband used to work for the company that makes them,& i work for M&S.

Most of the top supermarkets cakes are made by the same company,it is normally just a slight difference in ingredients.

I'm using M and S because H2B wants choc cake, we're then using cutting bars to make up numbers so will have plain sponge for that.

Mmmmmmmmmm, look what I found on the tesco website http://www.tesco.com/superstore/xpi/1/xpi54995951.htm One of those is SO going in my next home delivery shop - I'll just have to pretend it doesn't contain soya!!!
