The Function Band

We have booked them for our wedding ☺️ They performed at a family wedding and are INCREDIBLE, really get a party going and guests will have a great time and talk about them for years to come. They are expensive but in this case I do think you get what you pay for.

View quoted message We are having an evening ceremony, so the band will play from c8.30/9pm to 12.30/1am when we finish (with breaks of course!). Because we will be in two rooms they need two PA systems, so that costs a bit extra. We’ve gone for the smaller option in terms of number of band members I think. Family are very generously paying as a gift and I believe it’s coming to between £11k - £12k. It really is a lot of money, but it depends on your priorities - if you want an off charts sort of party and incredible experience for your guests then I think you’ll get it with the Function Band - I know I would be wary of paying so much money if I hadn’t seen them myself, but we they performed at a family wedding back in 2017 and to this day we still talk about it!

That should say £11- £13k - I can’t quite remember the final price after all the discussion of options!?

I thought about music, but there were so many options that I got confused and now I don't know what to do. There are some really good bands that can perform, but the ones I want are very expensive.

Hi everyone,

At first I had my heart set on the function band, in laws were keen to pay but we ended up changing our minds after attending a friends wedding where we saw The NeoRoots Function Band, oh my goodness, they are unbelievable! we felt they were more versatile with their repertoire than the function band and are much cheaper in comparison, they also felt more like a band to us, more energetic, but that could be preference (we're musicians ourselves). Don't get me wrong the function band were great, we enjoyed them at our friends wedding but they did feel a little too gimmicky for us.

We ended up having a full day wedding package which included our ceremony duo, string section, Cocktail trio, and the full 9 piece band with 5 singers plus sax all for around £10k!

It was an easy choice for us to choose NeoRoots, they are some of the best musicians we've heard in a long time, the singers are incredible and so engaging, the team were amazing and catered to our every request, 5 of our guests have booked them already. we couldn't recommend them enough.

Hi Alice 👋 Absolutely could not agree more, we saw them at my sisters wedding and we loved them so we've booked them for our wedding next July. Im so glad we had the opportunity to see them before booking, it's so difficult to decide on a band when you've not seen them live.

We cant wait for the string quartet during the ceremony, we're having a couple of our favourite movie scores played during the ceremony and two of the lead vocalists are going to join in for the signing of the register and the recessional, we've also hired the wedding breakfast roaming band during the day to get people out of their seats, I played the tambourine with the band at my sisters wedding (HAHA way too many glasses of Prosecco) I don't think any of us actually sat down at all! we want the whole day to feel like the biggest party, I can not wait!, Im so glad you had the best time, If anyone is considering hiring them DO IT! it will be the best decision you make.

Hey all this is an old thread, We looked at a lot of bands as I used to be a DJ and very fussy about music and my fiance and I both love funk and latin music, he loves really specific stuff too. We were shocked at the price of wedding bands. I think we came across the Function band at some point but can't comment on them as been getting on with other stuff. Just wanted to say we ended up booking through a website called Encore, there are loads of musicians on there, there is a band called Sound Express and Giulia and the Lizards - its the same band just with a different singer, both are excellent and we could have booked both singers has we wanted to. Giulia is very flexible and has a brilliant repertoire and voice and we are hiring them as a duo during the canapes and then a full band with another singer and horn section for the evening, so really looking forward to it. Price is flexible depending what you want. They don't have any videos with a bigger line up, and we offered if they'd like to film it then they can use it as a promo for bigger lineups, they were v keen and we hope to get a copy of it too for us!! so a win win !! So after July I can let you know how it was!!

I came across this thread as I too saw The Function Band at a wedding in 2022 and wanted to book them for our wedding in Oct 2023, the costs quoted were 15K plus VAT plus expenses (our wedding was abroad). This was quite simply astronomical for us and totally not a price we were willing to pay. I refuse to accept that I would need to shell out this much because my "priority" was the band and the music. As a musician, it is totally possible to achieve that amazing experience, without paying 20K all in for it.

BOOK THE NEOROOTS FUNCTION BAND.

They came in at under half the price and they were absolutely phenomenal. I am incredibly picky at they were incredible, flexible, friendly, personable and quite frankly, better!

You won't regret your decision to not give into the hype and book someone a bit more down to earth who are capable of delivering a 5 star knockout performance all night!

I cannot recommend THE NEOROOTS FUNCTION BAND any higher! They were amazing!

We booked them for our Wedding Reception and they blew our minds.

We hired them as a 9 piece band. 4 singers and 5 instruments. They had a sound engineer and a videographer.

All were a delight to work with and extremely professional. Craig and his team were excellent.

They kept our crowd going throughout the party and was so much fun. Everybody loved them.

They made our wedding reception so memorable.

I'd definitely use them again if I had another big event in the future.
