The NatWest Moneysense advert

In one sense, I can see that your bank giving you budgeting advice if you need it is a very useful service and can see why they're promoting it. However the below exchange which is in the advert annoys me every time I see it:

Bank lady: Do you shop around for your insurance etc?

Stoopid bloke: Not really

Patronising bank lady: (practically sucking air through teeth) Well, you should.

Would anyone really stand for being spoken to like that by someone from the bank? MrSC is switching channel now every time the advert comes on so he doesn't have to listen to me rant about it ?

    I totally agree. Everytime I see that advert I am reminded how much I hate those patronising meetings about your budget that banks like to have. Mostly to sell you their products IME.

    I hate them already from the 'my branch is now a trendy wine bar' adverts. My local branch is now a trendy wine bar called, ahem, "The Old Bank".

    And the branch in town have got rid of all their counters and staff and only have machines now.

    I've never eaten there, only drunk ? We had my sister's 30th there on the top floor and it was really good.

    Ooh no I haven't checked my email, will do now. Mum isn't moving for the moment and I don't think we would have to borrow any more even if we did move, but it will be useful for future, thank you.

    Another one who frequently rants about the patronising nature of this advert. It's a good service to offer but only to people who want / need it.

    The other ad i have to change channel for is the one with the girl being hit on the back of the head, then shooting up, then being in jail, repeated ad infinitum, but quicker each time. i dont know what the ad is for despite seeing it thorugh a few times, its hideous.
