The wedding day!

Help! Do you actually need an order of the day for the wedding as a plaque??
I’m planning on having a welcome sign and then swap it for the seating plan after the ceremony but do you really need an order of the day printed?

You don't need anything printed - you don't need anything at all actually but its nice to make sure your guests know what will be happening and when. Something like this maybe.

We didn't have one, just the seatintg plan. The day never really ns to time and as a guest I never pay attention to it, things happen as they do. You could but a page on your website for a guide but personally think is just another gimic and waste of money to have al these signs everywhere

I think most weddings run to a similar order and timings so guests will have an idea anyway. The only thing I would consider is when guests will be fed, say you had a 12pm ceremony but weren't eating until 5pm, guests wouldn't have had lunch expecting to eat at say 2ish so they will be starving come 5pm. Alternatively if you are not getting married until later in the afternoon then guests would have lunch before so they can last fine until the reception. Depending on your timings it may help if you can tell guests in advance when they will be fed then they can plan their meals in advance.

No one ever had these at weddings 20 years ago, and they all seemed to get married just fine. I think it's yet another 'must have' that is really a 'must make you think it's a must have to keep upping the amount of money the wedding industry makes'.

As I keep saying on these boards, all you 'need' for a wedding is someone to marry you and two witnesses. Literally EVERYTHING else is optional.
