Hi

We're off to Petrus on Monday for our first wedding anniversary and I'm wondering what to wear- I was going to wear a dress but now I think I might feel a bit over dressed?

I wore a dress when we went, but def a dress as opposed to a frock iyswim. Anything too weddingy or eveningy might be a bit ott. Wear what will make you happy though ?

I wore a dress from Autograph - chiffon overlay to a bronzy type underlay, with spaghetti straps, and a pair of borrowed heels.

You'll love it neromute, it's such a lovely experience and the food is totally fabulous. I can highly recommend the salted caramel truffles when you get to the bonbon stage. Do they know it's your anniversary?

Oh your dress sounds very similar to mine- so I might wear it. Did you go mid week or at the weekend? Yes they know its our anniversary- our 1st! Will look out for the truffles

We went on a Friday as our 10th anniversary fell on that day. My dress was posher than I'd normally wear (I don't do dresses, but I had worn it clubbing previously), I;d reckon as a rule of thumb, if it makes you feel fab, why not? For us, Petrus was a big thing (booked months before and saved up for as we live in NotLondon) so I pushed the boat out a bit dress-wise ?. I probably looked like mutton dressed as lamb, but I felt great and that's what counts.

Lovely dress. It's a bit try-hard for dinner in any restaurant imo (unless for a formal function) but if it makes you feel gorgeous, wear it.

I'd wear it (if I could get away with a dress like that (I can't)), but more seasoned restaurant goers will be able to advise you better. I'm sure you'll have a wonderful time whatever.

I had to go a couple of weeks ago with JMP & his company Directors - as they were in suits I knew I could dress a little more casual - so went in GAP dark silver chinos, silk cami with a necklace & lots of bangles.
