Those string things with clips to hang Christmas cards - where would you find them ?

The White Rabbit, 15 December, 2008 at 11:57 Posted on Off Topic Posts 0 9

Anyone know what I'm talking about ? Trying to find a way to get Christmas cards so they aren't on windowsills being knocked over by the draughts and thought these might work but no idea what to search for

Thanks ?

Wilkinsons have them in gold or silver for about £1 or woolworths if they have any left

Or if you have some ribbon, just pin ribbon down your walls from up by the ceiling and staple the cards to the ribbon.

Thanks ladies - anywhere online ? I'm fairly immobile due to a broken foot so can't drive (and get to anywhere with proper shops)

I saw some in B&Q the other day, wish i'd bought some at the time as my daugter keeps chucking the cards on the floor.

I bought some strings with tiny bull-dog like clips on from M&S once. But the most effective Christmas card hanger I had was home-made. Long lengths of thick ribbon draped over a door (2 or 3 looks good). Drawing pin in the top to secure it, then cards stapled to it on an angle all the way down. Cheap, pretty and effective.

Hope your foot gets better soon. What did you do??

    ? Hiya Peaches - you ok ?

I slipped on some ice (whilst carrying B so fell to protect her - she's fine) and I've broken a couple of bones in my foot, possibly some of the little toe bones and I'm on crutches for a minimum of 8 weeks (that said I do now have hot pink crutches !!!)

Just don't go for the 'hang up's they're velcro strips which you stick the cards to...I bought some last week & they're rubbish they twist so you can't see the fronts of the cards, and the cards drop off.

    Stick with string & pegs!

Oh sh!t, that sounds very painful ? Ouch, ouch, ouch. Poor you.

I'd imagine if it were me I'd be beside myself not being ready for Christmas! Hope that's not the case for you!

I'm good thanks. Thank you for asking. Apart from a killer headache which I can't shift. Christmas lunch today might help ?

Glad baybeh is ok. Loving the pink crutches!
