I always leave 2 weeks. The only exception to this was when I got married but thinking about it I never really get my hair wet anyway as I can't swim ?.

I dont think it makes a difference when you have it done does it? the fact its bleached is the reason it goes green, not the time it was done, although i am prepared to be told i am wrong?

I have had my hair highlighted the same day I went on holiday before now and it was fine.

I think it will only turn green if you've recently had it highlighted, that's why they say 2 weeks. Have also been told to use ketchup.

I am not disregarding the advise and i am not saying it dosnt work but i was just saying i would rather not get to the stage where i would need to put ketchup in my hair! If getting it done sooner would prevent this is what i would do?

I was saying 'no thanks love' to putting ketchup in my hair! and infact i didnt actually say it to her, i was saying it on here!

If my hair had gone green and i asked how to fix it i would thankfully take her advise but this was not my question - my question is should i get my hair done sooner or later to AVOID it going green in the chlorine.

I dont think there was any need for your angry reply!!!

I had one professional telling me 2 weeks and one telling me it didnt matter

I didnt disregard either of their advice.... took both of theirs on board and then come on here to see if anyone else had any advice or previous experience.

thank you for the advice and if, god forbid my hair were to go green i will be running to the nearest restauarnt for a pot of ketchup

I don't highlight my hair if I'm going on holiday because the sun tends to send it a bit lighter anyway so it seems a waste. I tend to do it a couple of weeks after I get back. Although, to be honest, it all depends on timings. I get it done every 8 weeks at the least so it depends. i.e. my hair is due to be highlighted next week but I'm going away the week after so i'm booked in for a week after I get back.

I expect the trick is to rinse your hair in those showers they have by the pool as soon as you get out and make sure you use a good conditioner and shampoo.
