Thoughts on 2 wedding dresses?

Leah, 15 February, 2021 at 09:49 Posted on Planning 0 1
So I originally planned to have 1 wedding dress as it’s the norm but I’m finding it so hard to choose! Also the style I like I think would be quite hard to dance around in the evening? I’m slowly warming to the idea of 2 dresses but I’m worried it’s uncommon and people would think I’m weird ?

    Hi Leah,

It's great to hear that you love 2 dresses! There's no reason not to have two wedding dresses on your wedding day. Other cultures traditionally have more than one dress, so it's completely down to you!

The only downfall of having two dresses if that it will cost you more money and you will need to take time out of your day to get changed.

I suppose it also depends on the style of dress you want to switch to? Judging by the fact you said your first dress is hard to dance around in, I'm guessing it might be that you have a dress with a big trail? Or a dress that is quite wide? In that case I can understand why you might want to swap.

It might be worth speaking to your wedding dresser to see if there are suitable ways to 'bustle' the trail on the day? Or you could even look at having a slim dress with the option to attach a larger skirt around it? This option means you can remove the larger skirt for the evening when you want to dance more freely - pretty cool actually!

    I hope this helps.

    With love,
