Tights and peep toe shoes?

*Mini*, 18 November, 2011 at 13:17 Posted on Off Topic Posts 0 46

Its out work xmas do on the 10th December and I am in a quandry about what to wear already.

I have decided already to wear my wedding pressies from MrMini, these shoes;

I am going to bung on a black dress with it, some lippy eyc- style it up. My question to you ladies is what do I do about legwear? I would normally wear black tights but with peep toes this is going to look naff? Should I fake tan my legs a gooden and brave the December weather? WWYD?

Why not buy peep toe tights? You can definitely get them in nude but not black as that'd look silly!

I actually think opaques could work here. The shoes are a nice blocky colour and style, which would complement a block colour tight!

Then Mini has the black dress, black tights effect which cheapens the look of her shoes.

Mini - you can either get these with the flip flop effect or these which are open toed. Other makes are available.

You see if they went peeptoe would not hesitiate to chuck on some black tights with the outfit...I am fairy craap with fake tan hence my reluctance to use it.

Oops, missed the dress colour. Yep, not such a great look with red shoes.

I don't think they'll go with black tights as they won't suit the shoes.

It's the black dress AND black tights with the red shoes that I think doesn't work.

For what its worth I don't like the bag, or any other Chanel bags....

I was focussing on the black tights, coloured shoes... which I don't think look cheap.

I think it looks odd if you wear a black frock and opaque, black tights. Particularly if the dress is sleeveless.

Wearing a black dress, black tights and bright shoes would make your legs look much shorter and I think that would be a shame as Mini has a cracking figure.

I'd go for black dress, nude tights, red shoes so that you actually show off your legs which in turn show off the shoes.

    Just answering the question ?

Hmm maybe I should just get some fake tan and be cold? Though am fairly sure goosebumps are not a good look?

TBF - We will only end up in TigerTiger ? at the end of the evening- it would be hard to look cheaper than 99% of the clientele in there.

It's more the aesthetic problem of an all-black outfit with some red shoes plonked on.

I hate peeptoe tights too. It's either all or nothing for me I'm afraid.

Go for the fake tan I'd say...

My brother's girlfriend has those shoes - I suspect they rank above him with regards to her love!

I agree that regular tights with peep toes don't go. I do, however, wear LBDs with black tights and shoes, although the shoes are usually black as well. This sorta look, but usually with black patent style heels:

I too hate peep toe shoes and tights, and if I was going to wear those shoes with a black dress I would probably wear nude coloured peep toe tights, I never wear bear legs.

I am also not too keen on black tights with black dress and coloured shoes, however I do often wear black trousers with a black top and coloured shoes and then match my handbag and/or accessories to my shoes, especially with cropped trousers.

Thinner denier tights, not completely opaque and black shoes - visually lengthens your legs and makes you look slimmer.

    Clever 🙂
