Timings for first dance / evening buffet?

goody51, 12 September, 2010 at 13:03 Posted on Planning 0 1

We've been trying to work out timings for the evening reception which will start at 730pm, we have about 40 new guests coming to the evening. We have a band but thought it would be good to play music from the ipod for the first hour so we can mingle, then we thought we would have our first dance at 830pm and the band will play their first set straight afterwards. What is everyone else doing with timings for these?

We've put 7.30 on our evening invitations with the hope everyone will be there by 8ish, we're having our first dance and the father/daughter dance at about 8.15. After that our friend is going to play a short acoustic set (about half an hour) then the DJ will play a few songs, buffet about 9pm then the DJ from 9.30 onwards. Your timings should be whatever suits you best x

well we are going to be piped into our evening do which is starting at 8.00, and have our first dance there and then. then we are having the buffet at 9.30 or so, so anyone who have to work the next day, or have a distance to travel home, can leave after the buffet if they need to!
