Tips/Feedback? Black diamond engagement ring

We're orf to Hatton Garden Monday morning, with a couple of appointments booked to look at black diamond engagement rings. I'm not a girly girl, physically, (though I LOVE my dresses) and since I was first out clubbing regularly with my friends (at the tender age of 15!!) I've always loved heavy-ish black jewellery. I have lots of it. So a chunky black diamond ring (set in a little sparkle) seemed a totally natural, and very 'me' choice.

Do any of you have one of these? Can you tell me whether you're happy with it? Anything I should consider?

Grateful for anything to think about as it's a big decision and a lot of money Smiley smile

    I don't have one but I love black stones.

    I'm sure you've thought of it but if you wanted to save a bit of money you could have Onyx instead of black diamond?

    How gorgeous is this?! Onyx, diamond and platinum...

    That's the sort of style I have been looking at and hope to try actually!! It's great Smiley smile

    A jeweller also suggested black sapphire to save on cost.

    I knew I'd seen it! Several times!! Smiley sad I've drooled over those a lot. I couldn't buy direct but I did speak to a jeweller who seemed hopeful of making me a stunner with change for a grand but with no recommendations I'm loathed to take the plunge and hoping to find 'the one' on Monday.

    That ring is so lovely though!!!

    Just to say, to finish this thread up, he black diamond rings I saw were ruddy awful. That's not to say they all are, but we had zero luck and I'm glad because I prefer what I have! Smiley smile
