Top table decoration

WelshSam, 4 January, 2014 at 12:34 Posted on Planning 0 5

I'll be having quite a long top table of 11 and I'm just wondering how best to decorate it. Should I just go for a few these down the middle or actually get a top table flower arrangement? I was just thinking of going for the fish bowls and just having my bouquet on the table? I don't like fussiness!

If you don't want fussiness, then fishbowls and your bouquet will look lovely. Why spend more money on extra flower arrangements unless what it's you really want?

My florist is providing small vases for my bouquet and the bridesmaid's bouquets to decorate the top table and in between each of them will be a glass with a couple of rosebuds. I'm not keen on the long, trailing top table flower arrangements either and they do cost a lot.

Thanks I'm already getting a fab deal. £135 for 7 fishbowls like above, 3 buttons holes and bouquet which I think Is more than enough to make my reception look nice without overspending. I can't justify spending hundreds of pounds on flowers that are going to be chucked in the bin come the morning. I doubt very much my guests will even take that much notice tbh. I've promised myself to not worry about all the small things and to just enjoy it and do it my way.

I'm not having bridesmaids, but that's a great money saving solution.

Love the idea of using bouquets as decorations! My BMs won't be sitting at the top table but will probably steal this idea anyway and let them enjoy not having to look after a bouquet after the ceremony, or at least that's how I'll sell it to them!

Exactly - they'll get it back to keep again at the end of the night but they're not really needed after photos anyway.
