Top table help!

Jennifer, 5 September, 2021 at 20:59 Posted on Planning 0 3

So my top table will be myself & H2B, maid of honour, best maid & my parents. Sadly H2B’s parents have both passed away. I don’t want the top table to look heavily weighted on my side so I’m thinking of having my parents next to me & my maid of honour & best man on H2B’s side. What do you think? I’m grateful for any alternative suggestions!

Me and my partner have a similar problem of his parents are separated with new partners and my mother passed away last year. We decided that to make the table less crowded and avoid his side being filled and mine empty to have a separate table with just me and him and then a table for all the parents to sit together so nobody feels left out and we get a little bit of alone time

I think your suggestion works perfectly. i lost my day very young and my H2B parents are separated so we decided to not have parents on the top table, they will be sat with our respective siblings and then just have MOH & Best Man, Flower girl (the MOH and Best man's 3 yr old daughter) and my H2B 7 yr old daughter on our top table. don't feel pressure to have the traditional layouts if it doesn't work for you, just as long as you are happy that is all that matters

We didn’t have a top table if that’s an option for you
