I’m sure I’m not the only one looking for threads specifically related to the different ceremonies that take place in the Yoruba (Nigerian) culture.
There’s so much to think about, considering there’s about 5 ceremonies — being an African-European (meaning born and raised in the UK, but have African heritage) there’s a mix of both cultures that I will be going through for my wedding to be what I’ve always dreamed of.
Just to give you an idea of all the different things to consider. We have 5 ceremonies:1. Introduction ceremony 2. Legal Wedding (Registry)3. Traditional Wedding Ceremony4. Religious Wedding Ceremony5. Owambe (Reception / Party)
Now, bear in mind this excludes engagement party, hen, bridal shower, etc. Outside of the actual wedding ceremonies. This means MULTIPLE outfits to be planned and MULTIPLE dates to be booked. There’s just A LOT!
Ai has been helpful and also getting a ton of information from family members but it’s just A LOT and all I really want is a checklist. So, I say all of that to say, what are the things I have to do — does anyone have a checklist that takes all of these ceremonies into consideration?
