Travel and waiting around

Megan, 1 February, 2022 at 19:53 Posted on Planning 0 11
Hi,

What’s everyone doing about travel to the ceremony? Me and my bridesmaids are hoping to book an air bnb for the night before which will be around 15/20 mins from the venue. I was looking at hiring a car to do two trips, drop the bridesmaids off first and then come back for me (or vice versa) but this would be a lot of waiting around whilst it goes back and forth!
Do you think this is ok or should I be getting two cars?

We are staying 15 mins from our venue and my MOH has said shebisbhappy to drive the BMs and then I have man of honour taking me a sinjuat couldn't justify the cost of cars. Maybe see if your friends would help or BMs would drive themselves. Or look at getting a car big enough to take you all, personally I wouldn't be bothered getting a nice taxi as no one sees you arrive so I just think it is a waste of money to spend on fancy cars, but get it is personal choice

I completely agree with you to be honest Charlotte and just thought it was something I ought to do!! I might look for a bigger car to take us all like you said or see who can do lifts, it’s not something overly important to me at all and getting quoted £500+

It may not be do-able anyway.

Lets say your wedding is at 1.00 and its a civil ceremony at a venue - so not a Church.

To get you there for 12.45 which gives the registrar the time they will need with you beforehand the car will have to leave with you at 12.30.

But to get back to you for 12.30 he will have to drop the bridesmaids off at 12.15 which means he will have to pick them up at 12.00

Take that to a 20 min drive to be safe and he will have to pick the bridesmaids up at 11.45 to do all the trips.

When a car is used they will usually stay around for a while after the ceremony and be on show for the guests and I like to get a shot of the couple with the car as the groom will not of seen it.

As for the waiting for the car to come back to you, it can be a nice quiet time to catch your breath and have some time with your Dad - or whoever.

Oh, I recently planned a trip to a similar ceremony myself, and I can share my experience. My friends and I were also thinking about renting a car and initially wanted to limit ourselves to one, planning to pick everyone up one by one. At first it seemed convenient and economical, but in practice it turned out that the waiting time and constant moving are a bit exhausting, especially if the road to the venue takes 15-20 minutes. I eventually decided to rent two cars - one for us, one for the main event - and this turned out to be the perfect option. We were in no hurry, felt free and could plan our time without stress. By the way, while we were discussing routes and booking cars, I studied information about obtaining an Israeli passport at https://welcome-israel.com/israeli-passport and was pleasantly surprised by how convenient and detailed everything was explained there. So, if you are planning a trip and want to organize everything without unnecessary fuss, two cars are definitely more convenient, and preparation through useful resources like this helps not to waste time.

Travel often involves long waits—whether at airports, train stations, or even during layovers. Instead of letting that downtime go to waste, it can be a chance to plan, read, or simply reflect. Choosing the right service makes a big difference in how smooth and stress-free the journey feels. That’s where Spoke Travel comes in, helping travelers make better use of their time with efficient planning and reliable support. With the right guidance, waiting around doesn’t feel like lost time but part of the journey itself.

That sounds like a lovely plan, kind of like how people book Traveling Tattoo Services London, it’s all about finding what keeps things smooth and stress-free, so two cars might save you that back-and-forth hassle.

That sounds like a really good plan and I love the idea of staying together the night before it makes the morning so much smoother. If the timing feels a bit tight with just one car it might be worth checking prices for having two as sometimes local transport options are more affordable than expected. I have seen some people book a reliable car service to handle all the trips so no ones waiting around too long which can help keep things stress free. How far apart are the times you and your bridesmaids need to arrive at the venue?

Last summer I needed a car to explore Cyprus beyond the beaches. I decided to rent a car in Secrental (car aggregator) after reading mixed forum opinions. The process felt straightforward, no pressure at pickup, and the car matched the description. Driving through small villages and mountain roads was easy, and having my own car really changed the whole travel experience.
