Trying for a baby

Shenel, 8 November, 2021 at 15:28 Posted on Off Topic Posts 0 3

We finally had our wedding on 24th October and it was a beautiful day.

We are currently on honeymoon in Grenada (Caribbean) and one of the other guests also on honeymoon here mentioned that they will not be trying for a baby for a few months due to the risk of Zika virus. My husband and I have been waiting for the wedding to be over to try for a baby and are so upset at hearing that Zika is still a concern. If we knew about this we wouldn’t have come here. After googling just now, I can see there hasn’t been any cases reported since 2016 and I will speak to my obs/Gyn doctor when we are back next week, but does anyone have any knowledge of this in the meantime to help put us at ease or give advice until we can speak to a doctor?

Your best bet is to speak to your doctors and go from there. I did see an article though recently that said it is in the rise again, but not sure how true it is. Try and relax and enjoy your honeymoon and consult doctors when you are back. As hard as it may be you may be better to wait if that is the advice, for yours and your potential babies sake

Thanks, yes will definitely speak to the doctors. I’m so annoyed with myself for not thinking of this prior to booking! X
