Turfing a lawn, expensive?

Gryfon, 25 February, 2009 at 10:33 Posted on Off Topic Posts 0 2

Our lawn is a mess of couch grass, holes (courtsey of the dog), moss and mud. I thought about digging it over and seeding it but then I'd need to work out how to keep the dog off it for a fortnight, and also that means we won't be able to get to the bottom of the garden to do any work. So my next thought is to turf it. I was wondering whether it was expensive though? I would phone some places but I'm not very good with the phone ? So was just thinking generally whether it's worth it or not.

It's not as expensive as you'd imagine it is tbh. We turfed ours a few years back and used a local supplier found in the local paper. The delivery was included in the price. I can't think how much it was now, but I was pleasantly surprised.

Great thanks ? Looks like a good possibility then! I was thinking hundreds and hundreds of pounds!

Or I did briefly consider whether my parents would miss their lawn as they're on holiday at the moment ?
